A vintage movie poster reprint of ''On the Waterfront'', a 1954 American crime drama film directed by Elia Kazan and starring Marlon Brando. The film is renowned for its powerful storytelling, exceptional performances, and its exploration of moral and social issues.
The plot of "On the Waterfront" is set in the gritty dockyards of Hoboken, New Jersey, and follows the story of Terry Malloy, portrayed by Marlon Brando, a washed-up boxer who works as a longshoreman on the waterfront. Terry becomes entangled in the corrupt and coercive activities of the local labor union, led by Johnny Friendly, played by Lee J. Cobb. However, his conscience is stirred when he becomes a witness to a murder, and he faces a moral dilemma: whether to remain silent to protect his own safety or to testify against the corrupt union bosses.
